Blastocyst Microinjection

Blastocyst Microinjection is to inject the recombinant ESCs into 3.5 days embryos (blastocyst). This process needs the micropipette puller to make injection and holding needles, micromanipulator to perform the accurate microscopic operation. Chimeric mice are developed from the injected blastocysts. The heterozygous F1 pups can be obtained by the cross breeding between the chimera and the pure inbred mice (same as the ES cell strain). The homozygous mice will be obtained by inter-cross between those heterozygous mice. The homozygous mice are used to study gene functions or as disease models.
